Yes, the camera does not disappoint. But now the camera wars are beginning, as The Hermit received his Kodak z740 yesterday, with 10x optical zoom. We'll see who's the photographer of the house!
You give me pinus envy. My shortleaf pines are just about two feet tall (the ones that are growing), so I have a while before I'll see bark like this, let alone cones on the ground.
Also, I was looking at a ($1000) digital video camera that had 26x optical zoom and could take still pictures. Aside from the cost, I wonder if there is some reason I would NOT want this for my picture taking. Excellent zoom. Multifuctional. As soon as I find a $1000 that I don't have a better use for, watch out!
pablo-you are way too clever for your own good! During my short stint in Missouri, we were living in a place that had a pond ringed with white pines. It reminded me of home.
