high today 60. Low tonight around freezing. I covered up everything I wanted to in the garden. High tomorrow: 58. Autumn is here. I am wearing wool socks.

I wish I were there to see it all in person. Imagine! Freezing temperatures. I seem to remember something about them.
you live in such a lovely place. glad your garden is producing good food. I always grow onions from seed, sown in the greenhouse in January. I eat them as they grow so don't have enough to store and even the ones left now are not huge, the biggest is still smaller than tennis ball size. I have a perpetual onion called a 'welsh onion' it bunches up and I pull side ones off to eat, it survives the cold here without protection but I don't know if they can be picked and stored. http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/ I am jealous of your parsnips, despite re-sowing I have about four in total, I think it was too dry for them to germinate.
