Life happens. On many different time scales. Sometimes, like this tree engulfing a "No Trespassing" sign, it happens so slowly we cannot perceive it with our immediate senses. Yet it happens.
That sign looks like a huge mouthful for a small tree! I once had a tree that ate a light cord when I forgot to take my twinkle lights down after Christmas!
Heidi- The Hermit and I first noticed this tree a mile or so from our house when we were walking last summer. I took this picture months ago. It never ceases to amaze me.
Sue- It does have a surreal quality to it!
Pablo- That's what I saw. Other pictures I took, from other angles, did not show this as well.
Barefoot Gardener- Thank you! Strange cool things happen all the time. :)
MojoMan- Exactly. The Tree Rebellion has begun.
Denise- Yes! I found this picture to be very inspiring, showing that man's "ownership" of the land seems so frivolous, and ultimately negated by The Power of Tree.
RuthieJ- I have a string of lights that is probably buried in a balsam that is now twice the size it was when we put the lights on it.

I do believe that's one of the strangest things I've ever seen!
What a fantastic picture! Very Tolkien-esque.
Looks like it's chewing the sign before swallowing it.
That is the coolest thing I ever saw. Thanks for posting it!
It's almost as if the tree is saying: "I will not be owned by anyone!"
You can't put up a sign telling a tree not to trespass...
We should be inspired by this tree to take a stand against the nonsense in our own lives.
