Monarchs and starflowers and...

Just a quick post to say that monarch butterflies have been seen fluttering around here the last two days. Starflowers are now blooming in the woods; I would have taken a picture tonight but it's been raining off and on and it looked like the sun was disappearing behind a thunderhead.

And...as I was driving Starflower home from Girl Scouts we saw a black bear! It was in the road about 3 1/2 miles away from my house. It was the first bear I'd seen in a long time; I know they're around here but usually in the spring one at least makes an attempt at the bird feeder.

So that's my world here, tonight. I may take the day off tomorrow to get a long weekend and do some gardening.

I was just coming over to tell you that I saw my first starflower blooming yesterday--and there you were talking about them. Should have known. :) I tried to take a picture for you, but they didn't turn out too good. Maybe in a few days when the sun comes back.
