They are so beautiful. We don't get them here in the northwest, but our black-headed grosbeaks showed up just the other day too! I love this time of the year.
The first time I saw a Rose-brested grosbeak was when my grandpa was visiting and we were visiting the home of some old family friends on a lake in Bloomington, MN (major suburbia now). My dad had once lived next door, that's why they were friends. Anyway, imagine an eight year old girl enthralled by the bird feeder. That's who I was, and who I am.
They're beautiful! I know they came up on a lot of people's most beautiful bird lists. Like Robin Andrea, we get Black-headed Grosbeaks. Now that we have a feeder block to attract them, I saw them for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago. They just stayed a few days.

They look so dressed up. Really beautiful.
Aren't they gorgeous? I didn't know they liked thistle seeds... The ones here seem to prefer sunflower seeds or peanut bits.
Beautiful! One of my favorites.

You are so lucky. Good looks, lovely family, musical talent, and grosbeaks!
