Spring training

This made me smile when I uploaded it this morning. If you have your sound turned on, you can hear Sally bark and hear the crack of the bat.

On a sad note, Starflower's pet rabbit Cocoa died last night. Cocoa was the rabbit who had an eye problem last summer. Her eye never quite returned to normal, and I think it may have been bulging due to a tumor underneath. Cocoa had been losing weight recently, and last night she looked very listless. Poor thing.

Way to go Calvin!
It's out of the park- touch 'em ALL!!

I can't believe how he's grown Deb.

Starflower, I'm sorry about Cocoa. It's always sad to lose a pet friend. (my daughter Molly says sorry too)

I love the sound of the crack of a bat in the springtime!! So sorry about starflower's bunny... Deb, maybe you already know this but, there's a bluegrass festival at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Plymouth starting this Friday. There will be several bands including Monroe Crossing. Also workshops. The website is: http://minnesotabluegrass.org/index.php?contentID=57

Lynne- I think by his 12th birthday he will be as tall as me!

Thanks. I didn't think Cocoa was looking too bad when you were here- it seemed to happen pretty fast.

Cindy- I just finished commenting on a friend's Facebook about the festival-he'll be there with his band. I also saw there's a flyfishing expo this weekend. Road trip for me? We'll see!

Now I see why MLB doesn't have spring training in Minnesota! Good swing by the way.

Robert- Yup, too much snow. Calvin covered the ball in red tape so he could find it in the snow. Then he took the tape off so it wouldn't affect his fastball. Then he lost the ball under the house today. And so it goes.

A very nice swing indeed. We sent him to a Twins-sponsored camp on President's Day, and he got a lot out of it.

My condolences to Starflower on her loss. It is a hard thing to loss a pet, but I am sure Starflower gave her good care and much love.

Island Rider- Thank you. Starflower loved her bunny and cared for her very much.

Jayne- I love that sound!

Barefoot- It's one of those situations where you think as a parent, could I have done more? But no, I couldn't.

Yeah Spring!

Very sensible to use a red ball in the frozen north like that.

Sorry about the loss of the bunny. We lost ours two weeks ago, but only because we delivered her to my son out in western Kansas where he lives.

Pablo- but it does take away the effectiveness of the whole two seam fastball thing...whatever that is...

So you're evicting your kid's pets? I hate to admit, my dad still has a cat and a cockatiel from a move six years ago.
