Snow! So exciting right now... I'm sure I'll feel different about the prospect of winter come February.

Anway, that first shot is epic... Something really beautiful about it.

How amazing and beautiful!

I wasn't sure if it had actually "stuck" up north. We've been having flurries in the Twin Cities on and off today, but nothing that will stay. But geez, does it feel cold. It's just too early!

Already? Wow! Just the other day my Minneapolis son was telling me it was 80 degrees. How far north of Minneapolis are you? Beautiful photos, but so unreal to me as we wait for temps. to drop to the 80s.

dharma bum- my kids were all optimists, saying things like "Mom-you should get your skis out and go for a ride behind Togo (the husky)!" They are too young to realize, this is maybe the earliest I've ever seen snow. And thanks about the photo. I've probably covered a a few different themes of the same scene on this blog, but that one just may be the most dramatic.

katie- any snow up your way yet?

tracy- It is cold, I don't think it's gotten above freezing all day and the wind is howling. My computer is in a poorly insulated porch, and we haven't undergone the ritual of putting the plastic on the windows yet. I would put a fire in the woodstove, but the chimney hasn't been cleaned yet either, better to be safe than sorry.

Pam- It was pretty warm here on Saturday. And I wouldn't be surprised if it got up to 60 or 70 one more time. That's Minnesota!

I'm about 100 miles north of Minneapolis.

Don't they say a bit of snow improves the flavor of greens?

;-)

Looks beautiful.

You did get snow! My dad got some, too, in the tip of the U.P. and here in Chicago they say it is coming- right now it's just getting colder. One of the best things about a garden is watching it change with the seasons. I'm never yet had one that was 100% dormant.

Beautiful. Hope you're feeling better!

So cool I'm feeling cold!

LauraH- I guess I get a chance to test that hypothesis!

vicki- I had spinach that survived the winter last year under a (broken) window pane and some plastic. This year I'm going to try to grow spinach through the winter under a double layer of plastic in a hoophouse. Always the optimist here...

FC- Thanks! I think I'm feeling better, although with the mostly outdoor work day scheduled tomorrow, and the continued cold weather, it's awfully tempting to take a turn for the worse.;)

pablo- I'm feeling colder. I'll be grateful for my "twentyish" pound cat that likes to warm my neck in the morning!

Wow! You got lots more snow than we did. We had some bizarre little snow squalls, with little styrofoam pellet snow bits.

More today, though: we'll see. It seems so early!!

Hope you are feeling better!

gtr- it is WAY early! I have not gone through the necessary "blood thickening" (I think I remember a college prof talking about this! Of course, what do I remember from college...) to adjust my body to this cold. And the wind...no way. Make it stop, please!!!

I'm feeling a bit better, but still a slight sore throat and neck pain. It must be from going to the doctor's office for a routine checkup last week. Clinics have a way of making you ill!

Beautiful shots, Deb. I'm not quite ready to see the snow fly, but that never stops it, does it?
