Why I find it hard to play music lately

photo taken by Mr. Attitude

I mean, when you have two lap kitties and a big three year old Lab who thinks she's still a puppy, what can you do?

My other lame excuses:

Driving kids to stuff.
Too cold to move my fingers.
Dishes.
Laundry.
Drama.
My pesky full time job.
Feeding birds.
Hauling wood.
Slothfulness.
Feeling a sense of dread at the idea of getting a musical instrument out. Yeah, it seems like I have so much I don't know, that I know I don't know, and well, it just kind of spirals from there. Today I did get the banjo out, and the mandolin, as you can see from the picture. And it was fun. I can't believe my fingers remember what my brain has long ago tossed aside.

I just found out there is a bluegrass jam every other Tuesday night not too far from here. It will be next Tuesday, and I will try it out. I so need to play music with other people.

Glad to hear there's someone else who has a dog that doesn't act his age. Just recently got a lab mix dog who is suppose to be three years old but acts like a puppy. JoAnn

Jayne- it is hard to play when the lap kitties are there!

Lynne- I'd bring an instrument to Sax Zim Festival, but I think we'll be dog tired by the time we get back to the room.

Pablo- Me? Tell about a life experience? On my blog?

You'll hear about it no matter what.

FC- The lap kitties get in the way, but the whole thing is pretty cozy. It was cold outside, as if that is a surprise.

Robin Andrea- Happy and amazed. I saw a friend at a small town store today, and she said "they'll be glad to have you there!" I hope that is true.

JoAnn- I'm beginning to wonder if they ever stop the puppy thing.

Good to hear from you!

You so belong in front of that stove, with those creatures and those instraments. Play on, Deb! It's good for the soul!

I think your critters like your music and waiting for you to play some. They want to get as close as possible so they can hear it "just so."
