What I forgot to say..

I got enough material for about a week's worth of posts yesterday. It was that wonderful of a day. And tonight the wood frogs and spring peepers are singing, so life is great.

I forgot to mention yesterday, the water in Sand Creek looked very clear. Unsweetened tea colored clear, as is the custom and water standard here. I had posted last year about my worries that the water was turbid. I wonder if that had anything to do with the drought, if water coming from groundwater is perhaps more turbid than runoff water. Either way, the water looks good this spring.

So life is good here. The trout still aren't biting, neither are the creek chubs or common shiners. But we've been out looking for them, and that's what counts.

Wasn't it a great weekend here in the northland? Finally! It looks like you had a great time.

Sounds great! And I was thinking you were in for more snow.

Nice picture-I can see the clouds in the pond-somewhat hypnotic.

Tracy- it was just what was needed. It's been a long time coming!

FC- Don't you dare go uttering the S word around here, not in the latter half of April! It still could happen...sigh...

Larry- I liked the impressionistic look of that photo.

Floridacracker needs to be slapped for saying the S word!

You have an amazing series of photographs this week. Just beautiful. They really make me long to get up north.

This is simply a beautiful and hypnotic photo. I'm glad things are warming up there, but it's turning cold again here in northern Illinois. I'm longing for the "break".

there's just something special about hearing woodfrogs and spring peepers again- new life!
my hubby has been checking out our local river daily too.. the steelhead are up, but the rivers are a bit too high to wade yet. Enjoyed all of your photos ..Spring has sprung and none too soon .. I'd love to walk around your property, there's sure alot of beauty there, even in the shape of abandoned wagons :)
