I think the Bird Gods are smiling on you these days, Deb. Nice shot too! That must be the influence of the Camera Gods.

ah, so that's where the snow has been hiding. We finally got a bit overnight, December was snowless for the most part- but the woodpeckers still kept us company.. they're a constant and I always enjoy them. Nice photo Deb (love the one of the kids playing out in the snow too)

Very neat that you got them both at once. We hardly ever see hairies anymore and never at the same time as downies. Nice shot!

cindy- I think we got more snow than most of Minnesota on New Year's Eve. It was threatening to melt, but now we have some good, normal cold temperatures for the next few days. And, to have you with your fine photographic sense say nice things about my photos is one thing, but to have you visit here and take the time to look at them, given your current visual limitations is another. Take care Cindy, you're in my prayers. :)

threecollie- Thanks for visiting! I also very rarely see these two species together, although they show up at different times nearly every day.
