LOL! That sounds so like me: "If you break your head open falling off that thing, we're just going to duct tape it back together, cuz I'm not taking you to the ER!"
Deb, We, in the birding world, have a name for your healthy young son and others like him. Immature Male. What would the world be without them? Is that a gravel road?
Hey, I remember doing that stunt as a kid. It was an interesting challenge and great fun and yes I did run into a ditch and go head over heels. That was not quite as much fun. I didn't tell anyone how I managed to fall off the bike... until just now.
Barefoot Gardener- Duct tape! That's a threat I'll have to use on my kids! Thanks!
Cindy- Immature Males are the most confusing part of the birding world, as are they of the parenting world.
That is a gravel road; we are 1-1/2 miles from pavement. It's mostly pretty peaceful; where else could a kid do bike stunts in the middle of the road?
Ontario Wanderer- Hmmm...You've just given this mom reason to worry! But somehow kids are remarkable resilient. I hope!
Mojoman- Yes. A helmet would be a very good idea. I'll suggest it to him. But what about the rest of the body? We did have a broken arm earlier this year, from bike riding. Perhaps a suit of armor...Nothing is enough.
Pablo- I do recall being young, but I do not recall riding my bike in this manner! Maybe I missed out on something...

That picture looks like he's about 1 second away from letting go of the handlebars and trying to stand up. I hope he listened to you....

It does look like he's having fun, though.

Pray for Lynne and her mom.

Mother might be a little less scared if he was wearing his helmet!
Clearly you were never young!
RuthieJ- Luckily he held onto the handlebars.
