blogging blues

As long as I have some time to kill (I promised myself--NO HOUSEWORK, I'M SUPPOSED TO BE SICK AND RESTING!) I thought I'd do a little blog makeover. What do you think? Is it readable enough? Blue enough?

I also called and scheduled a banjo lesson for Saturday, when I'm going to Minneapolis to pick up my banjo! I'm excited; the teacher I ended up with plays jazz banjo as well as bluegrass, so I won't be learning strictly one style. I do want to learn clawhammer (old time) banjo some time, but I think it would be best to get a broader introduction to the instrument.

I've been taking Coldcalm, a homeopathic cold remedy, and it seems to be working; I don't feel nearly as lousy as I thought I would! I've been pretty skeptical about homeopathy, but maybe there is something to it.

Thanks Madcap!

Barefoot Gardener- Did I catch the cold crud, or the "change your blog colors" crud? ;)

Thanks, glad you like it.

The blog looks great, Deb. I haven't been blogging in quite some time, so I'm not sure when you updated your photo, but you look beautiful! :)

The new colors are pleasing to my eye and easy to read...

Hope you feel better. I say try a shot of whiskey in your tea!

Hurray for your trout victory! You demonstrated the power of one aware, concerned, and knowledgeable person.
Great example for the rest of us.
Congrats!

Lene- great to see you here, and thanks!

Jennifer- I'm not much of a whiskey person, but a little vodka (quality, not the cheap stuff) is better than NyQuil.

FC- Thanks. And you do a great service by teaching young people about the natural world. We desperately need more knowledgeable people.

I'm always intrigued by the way blog owners seem to find the colours that will frame their photos best. Photos always look better when I click through to the actual blogs than when I see them stranded in Google Reader's white. But I suspect there is something more than that - I bet you couldn't just take one person's photos and drop them into any other person's colour scheme. They have a home.

Hehe... probably both!

arcolaura-
I think maybe people take pictures that include colors that they like, and decorate their blogs accordingly. Hence, the photos always seem to match the blog.

Just an idea

Arcolaura- You may be on to something there. There are some color schemes that I just can't wrap myself around; I suppose if I took more pictures of gaudy colored tropical flowers I might be more inclined to brighter tones. Me, I am one with the evening sky.

Barefoot Gardener- I notice the crafty, knitty blogs tend to come in brighter colors. Some of Blogger's templates just would not work for any photos of any type; those are for the political/current events blogs I tend to avoid.

Momadness-It's unanimous! The blue stays!

I am feeling a bit better; Starflower and Mr. Attitude weren't feeling good this morning, so I took another sick day, although they were both feeling good by afternoon. Me, I planted garlic in the garden, did animal chores, and am now exhausted.
