Autumn is creeping in, and some bunny blogging

This is a maple in our woods. Seems a bit early, doesn't it? Actually, the trees have been turning since early this month, gradually giving up on having enough water to grow and carry on the functions of life. I wish them steady rains next spring. Anytime after our roof is done.

Awww....These are two of our bunnies in their outdoor pen where they spend the day nibbling on cucumbers and a bit of fresh grass and clover. I think the one on the right has got the "disapproving" look down already. "We disapprove of chicken wire!" The whole "disapproving rabbits" thing comes from Sharon the Birdchick.

And this (I think) is Cedar, the bunny not pictured with the other two. She (I think) was too tired to participate in a group photo. The other bunnies have names, Cocoa and Brownie, but I don't know which is which.

Those bunnies are pretty darn cute! Are they Mini Lops or will they get pretty big?

RuthieJ- According to the 4-H member we bought them from, they are mini lops. We saw some huge rabbits at the fair, though.

Our rabbit Buddy is a mini-lop but there's nothing mini about him! Those little bunnies are cute enough to make my teeth hurt.

I'm getting a sense that fall is a bit closer than it should be here in PA, too. Of course, this may just be making up for last year, when fall lasted into December.

Wow the maple is turning a bit early, but nice!

About the only home brew, all I have on hand is the Tripple FC talked about. I'm building up my strength to get back up to lifting carboys. However, Breckenridge (IPA), Flying Dog (PA), and Delirium Nocturnum (Trappist), are holding us over. ;-)

Dave is such a beer nut :)
Those bunnies are just too darn cute.

Lynne- how many pounds are we talking about?

Carolyn H- I'm trying to remember if we had a long fall last year. It can be weird; we'll get our first frost in mid September, then it will be warm for weeks.

Momadness- Nothing like coming home to some premature but nevertheless beautifully red trees, and then watching the antics in the bunny cage.

Thunder Dave- I hear you about those carboys. One of my nightmares is to be lifting one to the counter, in preparation for bottling, and dropping it on my foot, thus breaking a few bones and the carboy, spilling beer all over the floor. I could take the broken foot, although it would hurt, but the spilled beer...tragedy.

FC- Yes, it's nice to find another homebrewing blogger. Although if he's a judge, he's way more advanced than I am.

Major cuteness there, I'm beginning to understand the appeal of keeping bunnies. If we wanted to raise them for meat, I'd want to find the ugliest breed possible, and even then I don't know if I could kill them...just like chickens.

They are sweet, Deb - glad you are enjoying them! I have a few minilops here; they're about 6 pounds.

I hope you'll be careful about sexing them - bunnies mature very early. Keep them apart before long, unless you want more! Consider spaying the females, at least, for their long-term health.

Spayed/neutered bunnies make much better pets and are easily litter box trained!

I'm glad fall is creeping in so that I can be released from my summer prison.--I don't know what it is about bunnies and bloggers, but I will say the bunnies are cute.

LauraHinNJ- thanks for the bunny advice, I can use all I can get! We have one female, two males...so we'll keep an eye on them for sure!

Larry- Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would turn into a bunny blogger...but I've gone to the dark side. :)

Deb- HA! The dark side beckons!
I think our Buddy is 7 pounds.
