nighthawks are flying

And taking with them the last days of summer. They swoop down low over the asters and goldenrods, hanging in the stillness of the evening air.

Short, sweet, and an excellent visual.

Lynne and FC- Thanks. I was mesmerized last night watching a huge but loose flock of them as they caught insects and lazily made their way south. I started out intending to write more, but I stopped, thinking less was more in this case. The migration of nighthawks is such a sign of fall here. Got my hummingbird feeders full too. :)
