pond evening

This September has been incredible, weatherwise. Tonight was just another golden evening.

This girl was happy to finally have some pond time. Week nights are just too hectic.

I have more words somewhere. But I also have a cold and the urge to just crawl under flannel sheets after the sun goes down. The words will be there soon, I promise.

Sally's look is one I have seen a million times yet cherish each time. I love that expectant, alert lab face.

I used your pond this past week in my lessons. I was trying to get across to my marine sci students the importance of water's weird qualities, especially the fact that ice floats and how vital that simple fact is to life on Earth.

So, I began, " I have this friend in Minnesota, and her pond ..."

Feel better Deb. I think it's going to be a chilly one tonight. We camee home from up north tonight and drove through a patch of 46 degree air!

Jayne- thanks. I'm at work, so I'm feeling a bit better. :)

Cheryl- Yes, that's Sally, our 3 year old yellow lab. She's a sweetie!

FC- I am honored to have my pond mentioned in your class! I suppose to young Floridians, the fact that ice forms on the surface is not as obvious as it is to us Minnesotarcticans, who grow up doing all kinds of crazy things on ice. :)

Lynne- That wind was howling! I have to cover up the tomatoes tonight. They're just starting to turn ripe and I don't want to lose them yet.
