He was back first thing in the morning.

It was only 18 below zero.

    I heard my first Purple Finch this morning. Spring is definitely coming--and not a moment too soon!!! :-)

    Denise- I certainly hope he has plans to stick around. I really want to hear him sing.

    At the same time, I have noticed an absence of male pine grosbeaks. There are a few females around, but where have the males gone?

  5. Momadness- This picture really doesn't do him justice. His red feathers practically glow.

    The Hermit called me at work today to tell me the cardinal was at the feeder again. I heard one singing at work today; maybe a girl will show up if he sings!
