These are first-year bulbs I planted last fall, so I am amazed that they survived the winter and that so many of them came up. I am lucky that that part of the property gets zero impact from squirrels. Rabbits and deer however, did a number on my blueberry bushes...
great, daffodils, hooray! I was just reading your post on planting and I am going to try this year to have more organised succesional stuff on the go, usually I just plant till I run out of room, although I did manage to have lettuce in the greenhouse till november or december last year.
Aren't they beautiful? I love the vivid colors after the dark days of winter. Ours popped open this week - there are lovely blossoms lining the drive and up the hillside.
I was thinking of you today when I went out looking for flowers. I think we met around this time because our starflowers were blooming the same week, but neither of us had shots of them (if I remember correctly). Happy Spring, Deb. May you see many starflowers this season.
BOINGGGGGGG!!
ReplyDeleteYou've got me beat. Even the ones on the south side of the house haven't popped open yet.
ReplyDeleteHurrah! Beautiful!
